The book – entitled Unlikely Heroes to reflect the fact that everything depends on the people – documents over 70 visits to ‘small scale farmers and growers with a double page spread for each visit. In so doing traces the growing year across the various locations. In total there are over 150 pages of full colour images. Plus there is a Foreword from Colin Tudge, probably best known as founder of the Oxford Real Farming Conference but he is also a well-read author. His most recent book Six Steps Back to the Land is very much a call to arms for small-scale farming. Stephen Devlin from the New Economics Forum has also provided a very insightful essay specifically for the book on the wider economic issues around food production. In total, there is 160, A4 landscape pages, all carefully printed by the Dorset Press of Henry Ling Ltd. in Dorchester!
