I Grow, Therefore I Am : Exhibition in Cross Green (Leeds)

The first exhibition linked to ‘Feeding Body and Soul’,  ‘I Grow, Therefore I Am’,  was shown at St Hilda’s Church on Cross Green Lane in Leeds from April 29th to May 5th 2016.

The exhibition featured work I made with the Cross Green ‘Growing Together’ project around the development of their market garden in 2015. The aim was to explore and challenge ideas of identity and self esteem, particularly in relation to place. The exhibition was formally opened by Hilary Benn, MP during in a ceremony/seminar which ran in parallel with the exhibition on the 29th April 2016.

The show and its related events were in collaboration with Cross Green Community Group and Hyde Park Source who together are responsible for the ‘Growing Together’ project, and St Hilda’s Church.

The exhibition and supporting newspaper were supported financially by Leeds Inspired, a part of Leeds City Council, and by MODU Exhibitions
